Inverness Name New First Team Manager | |
07 June 2012 Inverness Shinty Club has confirmed that Calum McLeod will be their new first team manager with immediate effect. Calum McLeod takes over from Stevie Munro and James MacDougall who stepped down from their co-manager role citing work commitments. This will be a return to the Inverness hot-seat for McLeod as he previously managed the club. He is currently based in Aberdeen where he works in the police but he will be relocating to the Inverness area shortly. Inverness President Peter Gow said, “We would first of all like to thank Stevie and James for all they have done for the club. We are now delighted to be able to confirm Calum McLeod’s appointment as first team manager. He is a former manager who has been playing for our second team and he is keen to get going in his new role. The team is out of the cup competitions for this season but we still have ten league fixtures left and this will allow Calum time to blend a team together for the start of next season.” Inverness do not have a league fixture this coming Saturday and they host the Co-operative MacTavish Cup the following weekend. This means that McLeod’s first match in charge could be the fixtured meeting with title favourites Lochaber at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 23 June 2012.
