Donnie Fraser Memorial Shield Success For Lovat | |
23 September 2012 Lovat won the Donnie Fraser Memorial Shield at Cannich on Sunday 23 September 2012. The competition was aimed at 2011 Primary School aged players and was contested between Glenurquhart, Lovat and Strathglass. Beauly were also to take part but had to withdraw. The sides played eachother twice in a round-robin format with Glenurquhart and Lovat tied at the end of the matches. Goal difference didn’t count so Glenurquhart and Lovat faced eachother for a third time to decide the victors. Lovat eventually ran out 1-0 winners with Fraser MacGregor getting the only goal of the game. There is a Skye connection to the victory as Fraser MacGregor’s mother, Kathleen MacLeod, who is a nurse at Raigmore Hospital, is originally from Carbost, Skye. |
