Skye Camanachd U17 beat Caberfeidh U17 10-0 at Castle Leod in the London Shield on Tuesday 7June 2016. Caberfeidh were only able to field ten players so Skye agreed to play 10-a-side which left Skye with five substitutes but everyone got a game. Cabers were able to include a couple of players with first team experience and one who has featured for their seconds and they put in a spirited performance throughout. In the end, Skye were two strong and they scored a number of good goals during the game. Ruaraidh MacLeod grabbed a hat-trick, Ross Gordon and Stewart Taylor scored two each whilst James Pringle, John Gillies and Dan MacDonald got the others.
Skye Camanachd U17 followed that up by beating Fort William U17 2-0 in the RBS MacTavish Juvenile Cup Final at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 11 June. James Pringle put Skye ahead after 1o minutes and the Islanders took this lead into the break. Ross Gordon made it 2-0 on 53 minutes and although Victor Smith pulled a goal back a couple of minutes later, Skye weren’t to be denied and captain James Pringle lifted the trophy. Skye full centre John Gillies was named man of the match.
Skye Camanachd A U14 and Skye Camanachd B U14 were to meet in Local League action at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Friday 10 June 2016. However, with Skye Camanachd U17 playing in the RBS MacTavish Juvenile Cup final the following day, the match will take place at a later date.
