Portree Primary School Win 2014 Fraser MacPhee Tournament | |
15 June 2014 Portree Primary School won the 2014 Fraser MacPhee Tournament at An Aird on Sunday 15 June 2014. This was a seven-a-side tournament for Primary School aged players (current team) and there was a trophy and medals for the winners. The Portree players, fresh from beating Kyles Athletic 5-0 in the MacKay Cup Final the previous day, departed from Portree Primary School at 8am on Sunday morning for the 11am tournament start. The competing teams were split into two sections and the Portree youngsters won all their section games. Next up was a semi-final meeting with Inveraray and another win took Portree through to the final. Lochaber were the final opponents but Portree were again victorious and so lifted the trophy. Portree captain Murphy Henderson was presented with the trophy by Duncan and Rosemary MacPhee. To round off a great weekend, Portree’s Ross Gordon was named player of the tournament.
