The Fort William Shinty Clubhouse was broken into and a substantial amount of alcohol was taken sometime between 1am and 10am on the morning of Sunday 23 August 2015.
Some FWSC team holdalls were also taken and it’s thought they may have been used to carry the stolen goods which were mainly 1.5 litre bottles of vodka and whisky - the type found on optics at bars in every pub and club with the brand label "upside down".
The police have a few leads already but the more data they can gather, the better.
- Were you at the party at the Clubhouse on Saturday night?
- Did you notice any unusual behaviour?
- Did you hear anything somewhat strange and perhaps suspicious?
- Have you been offered some cheap booze or know of someone who has?
Shinty is an amateur sport and relies heavily on sponsorship and fundraising to survive and is much loved and played throughout all of Scotland and far beyond. We all know of the commitment and shear hard work that it takes to run a club. This could happen to any shinty club and on this occasion it was FWSC.
Fort William Shinty Club is appealing to all who view this post to spread the news to help get to the bottom of what happened on Sunday morning.
Anyone with any information - no matter how trivial it may seem - is urged to call Police on 101 or Crimestoppers in strict confidence on 0800 555 111.
