Please find attached the fixtures calendar for the remainder of the 2008 season.
Please be aware that although at present there may not be a fixture scheduled for your club, fixtures may be brought forward to ensure that all fixtures are completed as early as possible. An updated list will be sent out every week by Email, normally on a Saturday advising the updated fixture list for the following week. Although only a few fixtures have been scheduled for a midweek if you would prefer to play your match on during the week & the opposition are agreeable then this will be encouraged by the Camanachd Association & a referee appointed.
As you know it is the responsibility of the home club to contact both the away team & the referee by the Wednesday night confirming arrangements and again their have been instances earlier this season where this has not happened. Also please ensure that your club complete and return the referee assessment forms, which were sent out at the start of the season, after each match as this will form part of the referee grading process.
I would also like to thank all clubs, referees and supporters for their cooperation & understanding when some fixtures have been reversed and throw up times altered to ensure that the match took place and we had a referee available to officiate at it.
We are managing to attract some new referees to our sport and every encouragement must be given to all referees and if you are aware of anyone interested in taking up refereeing, please contact
As you will also be aware both home and away clubs must provide a Goal Judge for their matches and I would ask that your club consider nominating goal judges who are willing to take on this role.
Finally can I ask that all clubs telephone their result in to the office as soon as possible after the end of the match. Delays in receiving these results means that not all results are forwarded to the media as the deadlines which they require are very tight and valuable time is lost chasing round trying to find out the results and goal scorers.
