Skye Camanachd U14 Coach Willie Cowie Delighted With Title Win.

Skye Camanachd Youth Coach Willie Cowie was delighted with his side as they won the North Division 1 title following their 1-1 draw with Fort William U14 at An Aird on Saturday 20 November 2010.

“I can’t fault the player’s effort during the game,” said Cowie. We created a lot of chances and the Fort William keeper was on form. We tackled well during the game and played some good shinty. However the Fort were strong opponents today but I think we deserved to get something out of the game.”

“There was a good crowd at An Aird to watch the game which helped create a good atmosphere.”

“We have won the league with 5 wins and a draw and that’s pleasing and it’s our third league win in a row. When you also consider that our U17 side lost the London Shield Final on penalties last week after winning the competition in 2009, then I think we must be doing something right with youth shinty on Skye.”
