Competitive Day Expected At Inverness Sixes. | |
02 July 2010 A competitive day is expected at the Inverness Sixes at the Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday 3 July 2010. Whilst the Premier League sides are participating in the Marine Harvest Premier Sixes in Fort William, many of the remaining shinty sides will be heading for the Bught Park to take part in a shinty event which has been taking place since Glenurquhart won the inaugural event in 1977. Reigning champions Kinlochshiel will probably start as tournament favourites and the MacRae boys will likely be pivotal to their challenge. Keith MacRae was player of the tournament last time out and his brother Finlay MacRae has been in brilliant form this season. However Shiel will face stiff competition from sides as far afield as Taynuilt and Lochbroom. Organisers hope to have 16 teams taking part and the tournament starts at 12 noon. |
