| Glasgow Mid Argyll v Skye Camanachd – Team News. | |
| 18 February 2010 The Skye Camanachd take the field for the first time this season when they travel to Glasgow on Saturday 20 February 2010 to play Mid Argyll for the 2009 Thomas Ferguson Memorial Cup.
This fixture is carried forward from last season when Skye Camanachd were due to play Glenurquhart for the famous trophy. However the original match was postponed as the unfavourable weather left the pitch in Portree unplayable. The clubs were unable to find an alternative date to play.
Most of first team manager Aonghas MacDonald’s first team squad have been in action already this season either in the Ewen Morrison Memorial Cup clash between North Skye and South Skye or last week’s Iomain Cholmcille between Alba and Eirinn.
Skye are without Allan MacLeod and Allan MacKinnon because of work commitments and Danny Morrison who has flu. David Grant misses out as he hurt his back in Alba’s victory in last weekend’s shinty / hurling international.
The match will be played at Yoker and throws up at 1pm. A near-by all weather pitch is on stand-by in case Yoker is unplayable.
Donald Ferguson, who is a cousin of the late Thomas Ferguson, will present the trophy to the winning captain.
Skye Camanachd from; Jamie Gannon, Steven Morrison (captain), Ian Nicolson, John Moir, AB Connor, Jamie MacDonald, Shockie MacLennan, Gilleasbuig MacDonald, Kerr Gibb, Somhairle MacDonald, Alan Palmer, Ally MacLennan, Kenny Campbell
One or two additional players may be called up to cover the absentees. | |
