The 2010 Lovat Cup match between Lovat and Beauly on Saturday 2 January 2010 has been cancelled.

A pitch inspection at Balgate on Wednesday 30 December 2009 deemed that it would not be practicable to try and clear the heavy snow from the playing surface due to the enclosed nature of the field and barriers surrounding it.

Although the game had been switched to Braeview Park, Beauly, a covering of heavy snow was also required to be moved from this pitch.

However it became clear that it was impractical to move the snow and there was also more wintery weather forecast for the next 24 hours. Therefore the decision was taken on Thursday 31 December 2009 to call the game off.

This means that the Lovat Cup remains with 2009 winners Lovat.
