| 23 November 2009 The focus is on the battle to avoid relegation from the Scottish Hydro Premier Division on Saturday 28 November 2009.
Kyles Athletic are schedule to play Bute at Tighnabruaich in the Scottish Hydro Premier Division although drainage problems on the pitch will likely mean this game is transferred to another venue. Kyles may be safe in the league but the 2 points at stake are absolutely crucial to a Bute side who sit in second bottom position in the league with 9 points. Bute’s other remaining matches are away to fellow strugglers Inveraray and to Oban Camanachd. Kyles Athletic have only played 2 league matches since their Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final appearance against Fort William in mid September.
Inveraray can ensure their league safety with a win against Glenurquhart. This match was due to be played at the Winterton but the field is unplayable so it has been switched to Mossfield, Oban. If Inveraray can show the same determination as they showed against Newtonmore last weekend, then they will prove difficult opponents. They should have Graeme MacPherson back in the side and this is their penultimate league match with the visit of Bute in their final match. A win for Glenurquhart could lift them into third place which would be a remarkable achievement for the side which were newly promoted to the top flight at the start of the season. This is rumoured to be the last match for the Glenurquhart second team under the very successful joint management team of Billy MacLean and Dave Menzies which is another reason why the Drumnadrochit side will want to win.
Both matches throw up at 1.30pm. | |
