03 October 2009 The weather has affected the shinty programme on Saturday 3 October 2009. The Scottish Hydro Premier Division match between leaders Newtonmore and Lochaber at Spean Bridge was first to fall. Saturday morning pitch inspections also put paid to the clashes between Inveraray and Fort William at Winterton and Oban Camanachd and Bute at Mossfield. The only match that goes ahead in the top division is Kingussie's trip to Tighnabruaich to play Kyles Athletic. The 3 fixtures in Marine Harvest North Division 1 go ahead. The Marine Harvest South Division 2 Oban derby between Lochside Rovers and Oban Celtic is off because of an unplayable pitch. The Ballachulish v Kilmory match is also off which means the game between Glasgow Mid Argyll and Inveraray is the only one to go ahead. In Marine Harvest North Division 2, the matches between Kinlochshiel and Lovat at Kirkton and Fort William and Caberfeidh at An Aird are off. The only match in this division to beat the weather is at Drumnadrochit where a win for Glenurquhart over Newtonmore will see the home side crowned champions. In Marine Harvest South Division 2, the matches between Col Glen and Taynuilt and Ballachulish and Glenorchy are off but the games between Bute and Strachur and Aberdour and Kyles Athletic goa ahead. The only match scheduled in Marine Harvest North Division 3 was between Aberdeen University and Boleskine in Aberdeen does not go ahead. Boleskine could not raise a team so the points go to the students. |
