Scotland Manager Strikes Twice But Lochcarron Still Go Down. | |
24 July 2009 Lochcarron and Lochaber played out an entertaining Marine Harvest North Division 3 clash at Battery Park on Friday 24 July 2009. The home side made a great start when Lochaber levelled after 14 minutes with a goal from youngster Pat Toal. The home side regained the lead after 28 minutes from the penalty spot. Fraser MacKenzie stepped up and sent a rocket shot into the net. A goal from Keith Neville after 37 minutes ensured the sides went into the break on level terms. Neville turned out to be the match winner with a goal in 70 minutes to secure the points for the Lochaber. In the end the match could have gone either way and the evening’s entertainment was enhanced by a great refereeing display from John Angus Gillies. There were no bookings. As for MacKenzie, a second half hamstring injury ended his game but he showed enough potential to suggest an international call up might not be out of the question!
