Skye Camanachd Players Win Portree High School Awards. | |
11 June 2009 Skye Camanachd players Iain Morrison, Stewart Grant and Jordan Murchison were presented with shinty awards at the Portree High School Prizegiving this week. Iain Morrison and Stewart Grant shared the Jake MacDonald Caman which is awarded to the senior player(s) (4th / 5th / 6th Year) who has done most for shinty in the school. Sixteen year old Morrison and sixteen year old Grant both play for the Skye Camanachd U17s and the Skye Camanachd second team. Previous Jack MacDonald Caman winners include Shockie MacLennan, his older brother Ally MacLennan and Steven Morrison. Jordan Murchison was presented with the Ewen MacLean Trophy which is awarded to the junior player (1st / 2nd / 3rd Year) who has done most for shinty in the school. Thirteen year old Murchison captains the Skye Camanachd U14s and plays for the Skye Camanachd U17s and the Skye Camanachd second team. Last years Ewen MacLean Trophy winner was Skye Camanachd's current U17 and second team player Martin Bruce whilst Neil MacVicar won the award in 2007. |
