Camanachd Association Development Officer Ronald Ross visited the West Coast last week to hold discussions with the local clubs aimed at re-establishing the Skye & Wester Ross Coaching Committee.

The meeting had a positive outcome with a new committee selected. Ray Coghill from Kinlochshiel was elected Chairman, Richard Hughes from Lochbroom is Vice Chairman, Anne MacCuish from Lochcarron is Secretary, and Alasdair Bruce from Skye Camanachd is Treasurer.

The committee intend submitting an application to Awards for All to fund a coaching project which will provide shinty coaching from a qualified coach and Area strips for under 17 and under 14 players on the west coast.
