Ireland Call Up Tipperary’s Seamus Callanan For Shinty / Hurling International Second Test | |
24 October 2012 Ireland co-managers Michael Walsh and John Meyler have called up Tipperary’s Seamus Callanan for the Shinty / Hurling International second test against Scotland at Cusack Park this weekend. Callanan comes in as a replacement for Cork’s Patrick Horgan who put in a man of the match performance in the first test, scoring all but two of Ireland’s points in a 25-19 victory which leaves the Irish 3-1 up in the series. Cork All-Star Horgan is on holiday but Callanan was delighted to take advantage and get the call up and he told Coilin Duffy in the Irish Examiner, "I was absolutely delighted when I got the phone call on Sunday night. It's something I have watched on TV and I've always said I'd love to be involved in. When I got the call I was absolutely over the moon. It's a special game. It takes great skills and I'm looking forward to trying to play it now."
