09 October 2014 Kingussie U17 beat Skye Camanachd U17 3-0 in their London Shield semi-final at Craigard on Saturday 4 October 2014. Andrew Grant was a late call-off for Skye whilst Shaun Henderson was on holiday. Kingussie’s James Falconer made the difference with a hat-trick in this 3pm throw up. After an even opening period, Skye lost defender John Gillies with an arm injury. James Falconer, who made an impressive substitute appearance for Kingussie in their Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup Final win over Glenurquhart, fired his side into the lead with 20 minutes played. Skye were prompted in midfield by the excellent Will Cowie but the Kingussie defence kept the Islanders’ forward line at bay. Skye’s North U14 defender Marcus Ross then had to leave the field with a suspected broken finger. James Falconer got his second to make it 2-0 mid-way through the second half. Skye were still in the game but when Falconer completed his hat-trick late in the tie, there was no way back for the Islanders. There was plenty good shinty on display from both teams and Kingussie U17 will now meet Newtonmore U17 in the 2014 London Shield Final.
