Skye Camanachd Learn Fate Following 2015 Shinty Cup Draws | |
10 February 2015 Skye Camanachd have learned their fate following the 2015 shinty cup draws which were made at the Camanachd Association Offices, Inverness on Monday 9 February 2015. The draw was made by Camanachd Association President Jim Barr and sportscotland Regional Development Manager Alan Clark. The Skye Camanachd first team were in both the RBS MacTavish Cup and Balliemore Cup draws. Skye were one of three teams to receive a bye in the RBS MacTavish Cup first round and they will face Fort William – who also received a first round bye – in the quarter final stage at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. The sides met in the RBS MacTavish Plate Final last season with Fort William eventually running out 2-1 winners after extra-time. The winners will have a last four tie with whoever comes out on top between Beauly or Glenurquhart and Inverness or Strathglass. The Skye firsts also have much to look forward to in the Balliemore Cup where they have been given an all-Island clash against 5-time Balliemore Cup winners Bute at the Meadows in the first round. Skye last visited the Meadows in the 2014 Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup and they won 3-0 after a tough match. The victors will have home advantage against Kilmallie or Kilmory in the quarter finals. The Skye Camanachd second team have been given two home draws. The Skye seconds will host Inverness in the first round of the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup. The winners will also have home advantage in the second round – against Col Glen who were given a first round bye. The Skye Camanachd reserves have been given a bye in the first round of the Strathdearn Cup. Skye will have home advantage against Fort William in the second round. |
