Scotland U17 Squad Announced For 2013 Ireland Tour | |
17 July 2013 The Camanachd Association has confirmed the 2013 Scottish Hydro U17 National District squad who will travel to Ireland next week to take on their hurling counterparts. The Scots will open with a warm up match against the County Down U17 squad on Monday 22 July 2013 and they have their main match against the Dublin U17 Development squad the following day. The annual tour has been taking place for over twenty years and many of these elite shinty players attended the previous year’s Scottish Hydro National Development Camp. The squad includes several players who were part of the 2012 victorious squad including Daniel Madej, Michael MacKenzie, Zach Coley, Oliver MacRae and Ewan Brady. Several players, including Lochaber duo Calum MacDonald and Jack Dignan, Lovat’s Michael MacKenzie, Zach Coley from Kyles Athletic, Fort William’s Arran MacPhee Kinlochshiel’s Oliver MacRae and Ewan Brady of Glenurquhart play regularly for their clubs in the Orion Group Premiership. This year’s squad is made up of some highly skillful players, many of whom already hold spots in their own club’s first team. I am in no doubt that we will see some excellent displays of shinty / hurling skill.” The Scotland U17 squad travel to Ireland on Sunday 21 July 2013 and return home on Wednesday 24 July 2013. |
