Ireland Captain Neil McManus spoke of his pride as he captained his country to a 5-1 series win over Scotland in the 2013 Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling International.

Speaking to the BBC after the game, the Antrim man said, “It’s massive. To come to another country and represent your own country and to captain your country is a dream come true really.”

Referring to the game itself, McManus went on to say,” It was helter-skelter out there. It was really intense and it’s an amazing battle which we really enjoy. This competition gives some of the hurlers from the smaller counties the opportunity to play alongside some of the All-Stars. It’s a magical competition and we are so happy to be part of it.”
