18 August 2015 Skye Camanachd U14 are through to the MacMaster Cup semi-finals after they beat Kinlochshiel U14 6-1 in their last-eight tie at Kirkton on Monday 16 August 2015. Skye U14 Coach John MacLeod was without Angus MacDonald so Abby MacLean was added to the squad. Both teams made a slow start to this 6.30pm throw up on what was a difficult Kirkton surface and there were few chances in the early stages. Kinlochshiel took the lead on 12 minutes when Duncan MacMillan crashed the ball home from 20 yards, past Murphy Henderson in skye goal. Skye tried hard to get back on level term and they eventually got their reward on 25 minutes when Dan MacDonald deflected the ball home from close range. With no further scoring, the teams went into half time interval level at 1-1. Skye made the better start to the second half better after a stiff talking to at half time. They were now shooting down the Kirkton slope and they gradually began to take control of the tie. Skye took the lead when Ruaraidh MacLeod hammered the ball into the roof of the net, past Calum Martin in ‘Shiel goal. ‘Shiel full back Corran Campbell was booked on for persistent fouling on 47 minutes as the dual between himself and Ruaraidh MacLeod intensified. Ruairidh MacLeod made it 3-1 from close range on 55 min. Ruairidh MacLeod completed his hat-trick to make it 4-1 on the hour-mark after a fine solo run with referee Daniel MacRae playing some excellent advantage. ‘Shiel were reduced to eleven men just 5 minutes from time when Corran Campbell received a second yellow, again for persistent fouling, mainly on Skye full forward Ruairidh MacLeod. Skye went 5-1 up on 67 minutes from a low Ruairidh MacLeod shot from 15 yards out. Ruairidh MacLeod took his personal tally to five goals a couple of minutes later when he flicked the ball home from close range to make it 6-1. As well as five-goal MacLeod, best for Skye were Christina MacDonald and James Morrison in defence whilst Ross Gordon, who was moved from defence into the midfield, produced a fine performance at full centre.
