Allan MacRae Resigns As Lovat Boss | |
22 January 2015 Allan MacRae has resigned after three years as Lovat first team manager. Allan MacRae took over in the Lovat hot-seat from the start of the 2012 shinty season. The team had won their final match of the 2011 campaign to avoid relegation from the Orion Group Premiership. MacRae moulded the young Balgate side into one of the game’s top teams, enjoying two RBS MacTavish Cup triumphs along the way in what has been the club’s most successful period since their legendary team of the 1950s. He is also one of Scotland U21 boss Garry Reid’s assistant managers and he is believed to be keen to continue in that role. Lovat have pre-season friendlies arranged against Skye Camanachd at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 7 February 2015 and against Fort William at An Aird a fortnight later. The Lovat committee will now hold a meeting with all players and put a process in place to find MacRae’s replacement. |
