The early team news is emerging ahead of the 2015 Artemis MacAulay Cup Final between Inveraray and Newtonmore at Mossfield on Saturday 22 August 2015.
Inveraray have had several injury absentees over the last few weeks. A hand injury has sidelined John Kennedy whilst Chris Crawford has been out with a shoulder injury. Grant Griffin has also been sidelined whilst David MacPherson sat out the last two matches with a hamstring problem but he is the most likely to return. Ally Munro suffered broken toes in SSE Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup semi-final extra-time defeat to Lovat but top scorer Euan McMurdo, who missed last week’s league defeat to Oban Camanachd, should be back.
Newtonmore’s Michael Russell missed last weekend’s SSE Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup semi-final extra-time defeat to Kyles Athletic as he served a one-game ban for exceeding the disciplinary points threshold. He will return to the defence for the final. Captain Cameron Binnie was held up in chronic traffic ahead of last week’s tie and started on the bench. However he is likely to start against Inveraray. Evan Menzies suffered a foot injury against Kyles but will be given every chance to prove his fitness. Second team forward Calum Stewart has caught the eye with six goals in his last two outings so may be in line for a call-up.
