2012 Women’s Camanachd Association Annual General Meeting | |
19 November 2012 The 2012 Women’s Camanachd Association Annual General Meeting will hear a proposal from the committee that Skye Camanachd Ladies be allowed to play all league home games on a Saturday for a trial period. The WCA fixtures take place on a Sunday and the Skye Camanachd Ladies, who joined the league two years ago, have struggled to fulfill their matches, especially in Portree, without co-operation from the opposing teams. The positions of President and Secretary are available for re-election as the current incumbents have both been forced to stand down because of work commitments. The WCA is also looking to establish a development sub-committee to oversee the development camp, improve links between school, university and league shinty and to increase participation in women’s shinty. It is also proposed that the number of ‘free weekends’ that clubs are allowed should be reduced to one which is in line with the Camanachd Association. The 2012 WCA AGM will be held in the Nevis Centre, Fort William on Sunday 25 November 2012. It starts at 1.30pm and all clubs are expected to be represented. The agenda in full is;
