Skye’s Ally MacLeod Enjoys Striking Role. | |
11 August 2011 Skye Camanachd second team player Ally MacLeod was pleased to take both points and get a goal in his team’s 4-0 Marine Harvest North Division 2 win over Lovat at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 30 July 2011. . Speaking to Cuillin FM’s Saturday Sports Show after the game, second half substitute MacLeod said, “It was good to get on and score so soon. I took a touch and managed to beat the keeper. I got two against Lewis last season so that’s three goals for me in total.” Reflecting on his team’s display, MacLeod added, “We should have made more of our chances but the Lovat defence was good but its still two good points in our relegation fight.” MacLeod has been fielded in a number of positions in the team over the last couple of seasons. He is a main-stay in the Skye Camanachd U17 side which recently beat Lochaber U17 to win the 2011 MacTavish Juvenile Cup. He played buckshee back in that game however he is in no doubt as to his favourite position. “I’ve played in a few positions for the team but it’s good to play up front and get amongst the goals,” he said. |
