11 February 2010 The pre-season friendlies continue on Saturday 13 February 2010.
The Gaelic shinty / hurling international between Alba and Eirinn takes centre stage at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree with a 1.30pm throw up.
Scottish Hydro Premier Division Champions Kingussie make their first appearance of the season when they travel to Braeview Park to play Beauly. Stevie Borthwick and Russell Jones will see their side take the field for the first time ahead of friendlies at Caberfeidh and Skye Camanachd. Beauly have been training hard ahead of the new season so this could be a good match to watch.
Strathglass and Glenurquhart meet at Cannich with the MacDonald Cup at stake. Strathglass are holders of the trophy following a goalless draw at Drumnadrochit in 2009 and this clash is always keenly contested. There are also new managers on show in this match with the meeting of Strathglass boss Brian MacKay and Glenurquhart’s Jim Barr.
There will be a local derby at Canal Parks when Kilmallie host Fort William. Scottish Hydro Premier Division newcomers Glasgow Mid Argyll host Kyles Athletic in the south. Marine Harvest North Division 1 sides Caberfeidh and Lovat meet at Castle Leod. This is Cabers first outing whilst Lovat had a 2-2 draw with Lochaber last weekend.
Glenurquhart and Strathglass second teams play for the Aly Ban Cup. Glenurquhart are holders after a 2-1 win at Cannich last year.
There will be second team action at Balgate where Marine Harvest North Division 2 side Lovat meets Lochbroom from Marine Harvest North Division 3.
There will also be a Valentines Day meeting between Fort William and Lochaber second teams on Sunday 14 February 2010. |
