Skye Keeper Michael Nicolson Awarded Glasgow Mid Argyll Shield. | |
13 February 2011 Skye Camanachd keeper Michael Nicolson was awarded with the Glasgow Mid Argyll Shield following the 1-1 draw with Kingussie in the Thomas Ferguson Memorial Cup meeting at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 12 February 2011. Nicolson was selected as the best Skye player in the game following several good saves and one outstanding stop from Louis Munro. Kingussie bosses Steve Borthwick and Russell Jones made the selection and thy were also impressed with Skye defenders Shockie MacLennan and Iain Murray and midfielder Gilleasbuig MacDonald. Glasgow Mid Argyll presented Skye Camanachd with a Shield in 1978 to be given to the best Skye player from the challenge match.
