Orion Group Premiership Newtonmore 4 Kinlochshiel 2 Reigning champions Newtonmore returned to the top of the league with a 4-2 win over Kinlochshiel at the Eilan. A David Cheyne double put the home side two up and Danny MacRae added a third before the break. ‘Shiel came quickly out of the blocks at the start of the second half and Keith MacRae struck twice to reduce the deficit to a single goal. The visitors had chances to square the game but a Steven MacDonald strike 14 minutes from time clinched a 4-2 win. Kingussie 0 Fort William 3 The match between Kingussie and Fort William was switched to the Dell as the Black Parks was unplayable. A first half Daniel Stewart goal and a two minute second half brace from former Ballachulish player Scott Henderson earned FortWilliam a 3-0 victory. Glenurquhart 1 Kyles Athletic 6 The match between Kyles Athletic and Glenurquhart was originally scheduled for Tighnabruaich but an unplayable pitch means a switch to Blairbeg. Doubles from John Whyte and Thomas Whyte helped the visitors to a remarkable 6-1 win. Bute 2 Kilmallie 2 A second minute Liam MacDonald goal gave Kilmallie a great start against Bute on Rothesay. Robert Walker squared the game on 69 minutes but a Michael Rodger penalty 16 minutes from time put the visitors back in front. However Hector Whitelaw earned the Islanders a point with a strike 5 minutes from time.
Marine Harvest North Division 1 Caberfeidh 1 Beauly 1 The top match in this division was the clash between Caberfeidh and Beauly at Castle Leod. David MacLean put the league leaders ahead with a goal on the stroke of half time. However Ally MacLennan, who was returning following suspension, earned the home side a point with a goal a minute from time. Skye Camanachd 4 Strathglass 1 Skye Camanachd go second following a 4-1 win over Strathglass at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. Player / manager Robert Geddes put the visitors ahead with a 9 minute goal but Alan Palmer squared the game on 32 minutes. Full forward Gilleasbuig MacDonald put Skye in front on 56 minutes. A double from Jordan Murchison on 70 and 79 minutes game Skye a 4-1 triumph. Inverness 2 Lochcarron 2 Inverness and Lochcarron shared the points following a 2-2 draw at the Bught Park. Lochcarron were behind twice but strikes from Mark Sproule and Ben Dalgety cancelled out efforts from Somhairle MacDonald and James Cameron. Inverness forward James Cameron was red-carded a minute from time.
Marine Harvest South Division 1 Kilmory 0 Oban Camanachd 4 Jonathon Will scored twice as title favourites Oban Camanachd won 4-0 at Kilmory. Aidan MacIntyre and Iain MacMillan got the others. Glasgow Mid Argyll 0 Aberdour 1 Second place Glasgow Mid Argyll went down to a surprise home defeat to Aberdour. Kevin McKell got the only goal of the game after just 5 minutes. Glenorchy 2 Strachur 0 Second half goals from Alex MacPherson and Lorne Brown gave Glenorchy a 2-0 win over Strachur.
Marine Harvest North Division 2 Kinlochshiel 0 Newtonmore 3 Kinlochshiel played their first match at Kirkton this season when they went down 3-0 to Newtonmore. Angus Gray, Evan Menzies and an own goal counted for the reigning champions. Lochaber 3 Skye Camanachd 4 An Iain Nicolson hat-trick in the first 4 minutes put second place Skye Camanachd 3-0 up against Lochaber at Spean Bridge. Stuart Matheson pulled a first half goal back for Lochaber but a second half Chris Rose effort restored Skye’s three goal advantage. A Keith Neville double gave Skye a nervy ending and they had keeper John “Podge” MacLeod to thank for a penalty save from Neville as they held on for a 4-3 win. Kingussie 1 Fort William 2 A Scott Knox strike a minute from time gave Fort William a 2-1 win over Kingussie at the Dell. Graham Campbell opened for the visitors only for Rory Borthwick to level. The win gives Fort William their first points this season. Glengarry 5 Lovat 1 An Arran Clark hat-trick and a double from Steven Cameron gave Glengarry a 5-1 win over Lovat at Craigard, Invergarry. Lewis Tawse countered for the Balgate side. Glenurquhart 4 Aberdeen University 1 Glenurquhart won their first points of the season with a 4-1 win overAberdeen University at Blairbeg. Calum Fraser, Jack Hosie, Calum Miller and Daniel MacKintosh were on target for the Glen. John Sweeney replied for the Students.

Tayforth 1 Ballachulish 2 Goals from Garry Young and Nathan MacDade gave Ballachulish a 2-1 win over Tayforth in Musselburgh. Inveraray 0 Aberdour 0 The Inveraray and Aberdour second strings shared the points following a goalless draw at the Winterton. Ardnamurchan 7 Glasgow Mid Argyll 0 Ardnamurchan racked up seven goals in an impressive home win over Glasgow Mid Argyll. Zander MacGregor contributed with a double. Lochside Rovers P Bute P The match between Lochside Rovers and Bute did not go ahead as the Islanders couldn’t raise a team. The points go to the Oban side.

Strathglass 0 Lewis Camanachd 0 Strathglass and Lewis Camanachd played out a 0-0 draw at Cannich. Stuart Campbell missed a penalty for the visitors. Strathspey Camanachd 1 Boleskine 7 Lewis Smith was the day’s top scorer with five goals in Boleskine’s 7-1 win over Strathspey at Freuchie Park. |
