Strathspey Camanachd manager Lawrence Belleni is looking for his side to build on their 2011 results should they gain entry to Marine Harvest North Division 3.
The club formed just 12 months ago should hear within weeks whether they application to join shinty’s senior leagues has been granted.
They had a successful 2011 season competing in the Camanachd Association’s newly formed Development competitions. “Last season we played nine 12 a-side fixtures,” said manager Lawrence Belleni. “We also played two 9 a-side fixtures in the Development League and we entered two 6 a-side competitions.”
The club has their home at Freuchie Park on a pitch provided by Skye-man Robert MacDonald. Belleni added, “Our playing field has been donated to us by local farmer, Robert MacDonald who is formerly of Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye. It's at the ruined settlement of Freuchie which was where the main town was in the area before the building of Grantown. So our pitch is called Freuchie Park.”
