09 February 2012 Skye Camanachd first team manager Willie MacRae has named as 17 man squad for his first game in charge as Newtonmore visit Pairc nan Laoch, Portree to contest the George Michie Memorial Cup on Saturday 11 February 2012. Skye boss MacRae will be without Jamie MacDonald, Kerr Gibb and AB Conner but he otherwise has a full squad to choose from. There is a first call-up to the Skye senior squad for 14 year old Will Cowie. The youngster rounded off a successful 2011 by captaining the Skye Camanachd U14 side to MacMaster Cup and North Division 1 success. He was also named Marine Harvest North of Scotland U14 Player of the Year and he captained the North U14 side to a 7-2 victory over South U14. Newtonmore manager Norman MacArthur takes a strong squad to Portree although he will be without David Cheyne who is abroad.
