04 March 2012 Skye Camanachd U14 beat Caberfeidh U14 8-0 in their North Division 1 meeting at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Friday 9 September 2011. The young Islanders took the lead after 8 minutes when John Gillies justified has starting place by turning a cross from DJ Gilpin into the net to make it 1-0. DJ Gilpin was again the provider 3 minutes later when he set up Angie Grant and he fired low into the net. Angie Grant got his second on 15 minutes when he got onto the end of a rebound after a Will Cowie shot had been saved. Angie Grant was causing the Caberfeidh defence all sorts of problems and he completed his hat-trick on 31 minutes to make it 4-0 when he slipped the ball past the keeper with DJ Gilpin providing his third “assist” of the match. Skye went 5-0 ahead on the stroke of half-time. John Gillies played the ball toAndrewGrantwho sent a low, hard shot past the keeper. There was no further scoring until 10 minutes from time when Will Cowie slammed the ball into the net to make it 6-0 following a good run from James Pringle. Angie Grant scored a terrific goal a couple of minutes later when he cut in from the right before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net. This was Grant’s fourth goal of the game and it game Skye a 7-0 lead. Will Cowie rounded off the scoring a minute from time when his powerful shot took a slight deflection on its way into the net. The 8-0 win preserves Skye’s 100% record in North Division 1.
