Skye Boss MacRae Looks For More Ruthlessness In Front Of Goal. | |
02 April 2012 Skye Camanachd first team manager Willie MacRae is looking for his side to be more ruthless in front of goal following their 2-0 Co-operative MacTavish Cup win over Strathglass at Cannich on Saturday 31 March 2012. Speaking to the Cuillin FM Saturday Sports Show after the game, MacRae said, “We passed up a lot of chances in the first half and it was a bit like the Inverness game the week before. We need to take more of our chances but the forwards are putting in a great effort and I’m sure that more goals will come.” MacRae had words of praise for his defence who kept a second successive clean sheet. “Aonghas MacDonald in goal and the defenders deserve credit for the two clean sheets. Given that we don’t look to have a game for the next two week, that will be a month without conceding a goal,” he joked. However the break hasn’t come at a good time. “We have built up a head of steam so it is disappointing to have the two week break,” said MacRae. “However we will have a few players involved in the Iomain Cholmcille Shinty / Hurling this weekend and others will get the chance to shake off some niggling injuries.” |
