Skye Camanachd's Shockie MacLennan Confirmed in Scotland U21 Squad | |
24 September 2012 Skye Camanachd's Shockie MacLennan has been named in the Scotland U21 squad for the international against Ireland U21 at Ennis on Friday 26 October 2012. Scotland U21 Head Coach Ronald Ross has whittled his pool of 24 players down to a final squad of 19 players following the weekend training session at Taynuilt. Shockie MacLennan has had an excellent season in the Skye Camanachd first team and he captains the side who currently sit second in the table with two home matches remaining. He also captained the team to a fine Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup run where they beat Orion Group Premiership side Glenurquhart before going out to eventual winners Kyles Athletic at the quarter-final stage. Skye Camanachd defender Neil MacVicar has been named on the stand-by list for the U21 international which is reward for a super season in the first team where he has featured in both defence and attack. MacVicar will still be eligible to play at U21 level in the 2013 shinty season.
