Skye Camanachd Ladies Set For Representative Action | |
02 October 2012 The Skye Camanachd Ladies team will be well represented as the North and South senior and U18 sides clash at Mossfield on Sunday 7 October 2012. This is one of the biggest days in the women’s shinty calendar and most of the game’s top players will be on show. The North U18 and South U18 sides are first up and they clash at 1pm. The North have dominated this event in recent years although they had to fight all the way to secure a 4-3 victory last year. The Skye Camanachd Ladies excellent performances this season have been recognised as they have three players on show with keeper Ilana Paterson, Caitlin MacLean and Rosalind Lamond all taking part. Their presence also gives all the Scotland squad players on show the chance to catch the eye ahead of the Shinty / Camogie international between Scotland and a Clare Camogie select in County Clare on Saturday 27 October 2012. The North beat the South 6-0 last year and they will be looking to secure the title for the third consecutive year. However the South teams have had success in the club competitions this season and they have listed a strong squad. The potent Skye Camanachd Ladies strike force of Lorna MacRae and Jenna Beaton is included in the North squad with MacRae named in the Scotland party for Ireland and Beaton on the international stand-by list.
