Skye Camanachd Confirm Managers For 2013 Shinty Season | |
23 December 2012 Skye Camanachd have confirmed their first and second team managers for the 2013 shinty season following a players’ meeting at the Skye Camanachd Clubhouse on Saturday 22 December 2012. Willie MacRae continues as first team manager and he will be once again assisted by Ross Cowie. In his first season in charge, MacRae led the team to a second place finish in Marine Harvest North Division 1. They went out of the Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup at the quarter-final stage to eventual winners Kyles Athletic and were knocked out of the Co-operative MacTavish Cup by competition runners-up Lochaber. Manager Murdo Morrison and his assistant David Grant will have a second term in charge of the Skye Camanachd reserve team. Morrison will look to build on last season’s efforts where the side came third in Marine Harvest North Division 2, reached the semi-finals of the Strathdearn Cup before being knocked out by eventual winners Beauly and were put out of the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup by Kingussie who also went on to win the tournament. Both managers set out their hopes and plans for the season ahead at a well-attended meeting and training for the new campaign is already under way. |
