Portree High School Win Back Sorley MacLean Quaich | |
22 April 2012 Portree High School won back the Sorley MacLean Quaich following a 3-1 win over Plockton High School at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Thursday 19 April 2012. Plockton were holders after coming out on top last year and they took a first half lead through Conall Fraser in this clash. However Jordan Murchison, who started at full centre before pushing forward, leveled the game at 1-1. A cross-come-shot from Andrew Grant drifted into the Plockton net to put Portree in front and Murchison got his second when he tucked home a rebound after an initial shot from Chris MacLennan. Portree’s DJ Gilpin was named man of the match. Portree, coached by Willie Cowie, also came out on top in the girls match thanks in no small way to 2011 WCA North Division 2 Player of the Year Lorna MacRae who scored all five goals in a 5-1 victory over their Plockton counter-parts. Holly McCue was on target for Plockton. |
