19 July 2012 Oban Camanachd’s Matt Rippon has been suspended from shinty until March 2014. The decision was made at a hearing in Fort William on Tuesday 17 July 2012 which considered events both during and following Oban Camanachd’s Balliemore Cup quarter-final tie with Lochaber at Mossfield at the end of May 2012. Rippon was sent off by referee Innes Wood during the tie. The player had already been suspended by his club, Oban Camanachd, for the remainder of the 2012 shinty season and he will now miss the whole of the 2013 season too. Oban Camanachd first team manager Diarmid MacMillan, who stepped down after the game, has been given a six match ban. Oban Camanachd have also been fined £150. |
