27 January 2012 Skye Camanachd open their pre-season programme when they head for Shawbost to play Lewis Camanachd on Saturday 28 January 2012. Skye Camanachd second team manager Murdo Morrison is unable to make the trip because of work commitments so assistant manager David Grant will look after the youthful squad. Skye Camanachd first team manager Willie MacRae will also make the trip to cast a watchful eye over the Skye youngsters. First team player Iain Nicolson will also make the journey. Lewis Camanachd will include all their homebased players. However Scott Murray will be missing as he is playing for the Scottish University select against their British Universities hurling select counterparts whilst Calum Stamper is another absentee. Keeper Conor MacDonald may get the chance to play outfield with Euan Gilmour taking over between the posts. Former Skye Camanachd player Eoghan Stewart will also be missing. The match will throw up just after 2pm, as soon as the Skye side arrive.
