Ireland v Scotland ………….. 2 Days to Go! | |
25 October 2012 Scotland boss Drew McNeil has plenty to think about ahead of the Shinty / Hurling international second test against Ireland this weekend. As the Scotland Head Coach plots to overturn a 3-1 series deficit, he knows that team selection could be crucial. “We have a flexible squad and that gives me several options so there is plenty to think about,” said the Scotland boss. “Niall MacPhee did well when he came on in midfield last Saturday as did Mark MacDonald in defence. They’ve given me food for thought but I have a full squad available and I have faith in all the players. John Stewart did well up front too but he was a bit isolated so we’ll need to try and get him more support.” McNeil is not too perturbed about the playing conditions Scotland could face in Ireland with the grass tending to be longer to suit the hurlers. “We’ve play in long grass and in heavy rain before so we’ll deal with the conditions whatever they are. That won’t be a problem.” The Irish will host a reception for the Scots on the Friday evening to welcome them to Clare.
