Inverness Boss Stevie Munro Pleased With His Side’s Performance. | |
26 March 2012 Inverness boss Stevie Munro said he was pleased with his side’s performance following their 2-0 Marine Harvest North Division 1 defeat to Skye Camanachd at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 24 March 2012. Speaking to the Cuillin FM Saturday Sports Show after the game, Munro said. “The scoreline was tight until that second goal went in at the end. I was quite pleased with the way we played today because we were a few players short. That’s not an excuse and we do have a better pool now and signing Somhairle MacDonald and Dougie Rankin has improved our pool.” Turning his thoughts to the home side, Munro said, “I was impressed with the Skye team. They are a good young team. Jordan Murchison up front looks to be a very special player and he took his goal well. At the end of the day, Skye were very good but there wasn’t much in it at the end.” Inverness are looking to the future and Munro gave an insight to some of the work behind the scenes. “There is a lot of work going on coaching the young kids in Inverness again. Russell Jones from the Camanachd Association has put in a big effort around the schools and we ourselves have nine new coaches who are taking the kids for practice on Sundays. That’s all looking good for the future of Inverness shinty and we’ve needed that for a wee while.” Next up for Inverness is a Co-operative MacTavish Cup tie against Inverness and Munro knows it will be difficult. “Yes, we have Glenurquhart in the MacTavish Cup which will be hard but it is all good experience for the boys.” |
