The Camanachd Association has taken to Twitter to promote the Marine Harvest Shinty / Hurling International between Scotland and Ireland.
In an innovative move, they have tweeted some famous Scots to gather their support for the national team.
The impressive list of replies includes;
Andy Murray’s mum Judy Murray asked, “Is Ronaldo Ross featuring?” and she is no doubt aware of the Scotland U21 Head Coach’s tennis exploits when he was younger.
STV weatherman Sean Batty offered his support with a positive forecast, “Looking good for SaturdayJ”
Sir Chris Hoy also took time out to pass on a good luck message to the Scotland team.
The most amusing response came from Billy Connolly who once said that shinty should be Scotland's national sport. He replied, “I once heard a comedian called Morton in Glasgow describe shinty as drunk people in a puddle with sticks. ”But the Big Yin showed his support of the game by adding, “Scotland’s national game? Yes!”
