Youth Round Up | |
29 May 2017 There were a number of youth fixtures during the last week.
Marine Harvest National U17 League – London Shield Section A Glenurquhart defeated Kinlochshiel 1-0. The only goal came 10 minutes before the break with Oliver Black scoring. Skye Camanachd beat Strathglass 10-0 at Cannich. Ruaraidh MacLeod and Daniel MacDonald notched hat-tricks, Stewart Taylor scored twice whilst Ross Gordon and Gilleasbuig MacVicar got the others.
Section B Kingussie overcame Kilmallie 7-0 at The Canal Parks. Roddy Young was their top scorer with four goals, Joe Donald netted twice and Liam Borthwick got the other. The match between Lochaber and Newtonmore was postponed.
Marine Harvest U17 Development League – WJ Cameron The matches between Skye Camanachd B and Caberfeidh and Glengarry and Lovat will be rescheduled.
Marine Harvest U14 North League Section A Kingussie overcame Newtonmore 11-0 at The Dell. Michael Slimon and Calum MacIntosh each scored hat-tricks, Ali Douglas and Ewan Baker each scored twice with Cluanie Fraser also on target. Lochaber defeated Lovat 6-2 at Spean Bridge with Dillon Brockie grabbing a hat-trick, Max Campbell scoring twice and Sorley Swabey getting the other.
Section B An under-strength Fort William side edged out Kilmallie 6-4 at An Aird. Reece Kennedy put the home side ahead but Ben MacKinnon equalised. Reece Kennedy put the Fort back in front and Murdo Shaw made it 3-1. Kilmallie pressed hard to reduce the deficit but were denied by some good goalkeeping before Reece Kennedy scored twice more to take his tally to four goals. A Kilmallie fight back saw another from Reece MacKinnon and goals from Aiden Love and Kyle Nolan reduce the Fort advantage to 5-4 but Alfie Duncan rounded off the 6-4 win with a goal on the stroke of full time. The match between Ardnamurchan and Glengarry will be rearranged.
Section C Three late goals gave Kinlochshiel a 6-3 win over Skye Camanachd. Jamie MacKinnon, Calum MacKay and Lewis MacLeod all scored for Skye whilst doubled from Arran Jack and Archie MacRae and goals from Sam Stubbs and Ciaran Kellet gave ‘Shiel the win.
Section D Beauly and Inverness shared the points in a 3-3 draw at Braeview Park. Beauly led 3-0 at the interval with Rory MacColl scoring twice and Torrin Cairns getting the other. However Inverness stormed back in the second half and they earned their draw courtesy of a Ross MacKinnon double and a Finlay Calder goal.
Marine Harvest U14 South League Oban Camanachd overcame Ballachulish 3-1. Ross Campbell was on target twice and Kieran Lopez got the other Camanachd goal with Fraser MacLean replying for Balla’ Bute beat Oban Lorn 7-1. William MacEwan got the home goat but an impressive six goal haul from Steven Dunn and a Leon MacMillan effort gave Bute victory. The match between Dunoon and Kilmory will be rearranged. |
