12 June 2017 There were a number of youth fixtures during the week.
MacTavish Cup U17 Juvenile Cup Final Skye Camanachd 3 Kingussie 1 Skye Camanachd retained the MacTavish Juvenile Cup with a 3-1 win over Kingussie U17 in their 1pm throw up at The Bught Park, Inverness. Skye welcomed forward Ruaraidh MacLeod back into their squad whilst Kingussie went into the match without Ruaridh Anderson and Roddy Young who were abroad on a school trip. Dylan Borthwick put Kingussie ahead after 31 minutes. However Ross Gordon levelled on 51 minutes with Mark MacQueen putting the Islanders in front just 4 minutes later. Ruaraidh MacLeod sealed the win on 75 minutes and Skye captain Stewart Taylor lifted the trophy. Skye’s James Morrison was named man of the match. .
Marine Harvest National U17 League – London Shield Section A Skye Camanachd defeated Glenurquhart 2-0 at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. Daniel MacDonald and Mark MacQueen got the goals in a hard fought encounter. The match between Fort William and Strathglass will be rescheduled.
Section B The meeting between Oban Camanachd and Kilmallie will be rearranged Kingussie overcame Lochaber 8-0 at The Dell. Dylan Borthwick grabbed a hat-trick, Liam Borthwick scored twice whilst Bradley Harvie, Michael Slimon and Roma Fraser got the others.
Marine Harvest U17 Development League – W.J. Cameron The game between Skye Camanachd B and Lovat will be rescheduled.
Marine Harvest U14 North League Section A Kingussie were too strong for Lovat, winning 13-0 at Balgate. Ewan Baker netted four times, Ian Fraser notched a hat-trick and Keppa Salazar Roy scored twice. Nathan Christie, Charlie Campbell, Ian MacKintosh and Eion Baikie got the others. A Taylor Whyte goal earned Lochaber a 1-1 draw against Newtonmore at The Eilan. Section B Glengarry were 5-2 winners against Kilmallie at Craigard. Ben MacKinnon scored twice for the visitors but a Ronan Blakely double and goals from Gabriel MacCallum, Cameron Fraser and Finlay Fraser gave ‘Garry the win. Fort William returned from Ardnamurchan with both points courtesy of a 6-0 triumph. Craig MacDonald grabbed a hat-trick, Leah Maxtone scored twice with Archie MacKinnon getting the other.
Section C Kinlochshiel beat Caberfeidh 15-2 at Castle Leod. Hamish Alliston scored both Cabers’ goals but four from Duncan MacMillan, hat-tricks from Nathan Stewart, Archie MacRae and Ciaran Kellet and efforts from Aaron MacBeth and Mark Whear gave ‘Shiel the win.
Section D Inverness clinched Section D with a 2-1 victory over Glenurquhart at Blairbeg. Finlay Calder put Inverness ahead but Glenurquhart netted a deserved equaliser. Calum Tuckwood put Inverness back in front on 25 minutes with what proved to be the winner. |
