05 June 2017 There were a number of youth fixtures during the last week.
U17 MacTavish Juvenile Cup - Semi-Final Skye Camanachd and Kingussie will meet in the 2017 MacTavish Juvenile Cup Final at The Bught Park on Saturday 10 June 2017. Skye Camanachd beat Lochaber 9-0 in their semi-final at Kirkton. Daniel MacDonald scored four times, both Ross Gordon and Stewart Taylor bagged braces and Mark MacQueen got the other. Kingussie came from a goal down to beat 7-2 Fort William in their last four tie at The Dell. Victor Smith gave Fort William a 20 minute lead but Dylan Borthwick levelled just 60 seconds later. Roddy Young put Kingussie 3-1 ahead with goals on 34 and 43 minutes. Ruaridh Anderson on 47 minutes and another from Roddy Young on 57 minutes made it 5-1. Ruaridh Anderson got his second on 63 minutes although Ryan Boyle pulled a goal back for Fort William a couple of minutes later. Roddy Young rounded off the scoring with his fourth goal of the evening on 78 minutes.
Marine Harvest U17 Development League – W.J. Cameron Caberfeidh beat Glengarry 3-2 in their match at Castle Leod. Calum MacKinnon notched all three Caberfeidh goals whilst Mungo Blakely and Duncan MacPherson netted for ‘Garry.
U14 MacMaster Cup – Second Round It took extra-time to separate Lochaber and Oban Camanachd at Spean Bridge with Lochaber eventually running out 7-6 winners. Max Campbell scored five times for Lochaber with Tyler White and Dillon Brokie also netting. Kinlochshiel beat Skye Camanachd 9-2 at Kirkton. Liam MacQueen and Taylor Matheson got the Skye goals but Archie MacRae scored five times for ‘Shiel with Ciaran Kellet, Zander MacRae, Nathan Stewart and Mark Whear getting the others. ‘Shiel now face Lochaber in the last four of the competition. Inverness beat Glenurquhart 8-1 at Blairbeg. Angus MacCallum scored for the home side but four goal Ross MacKinnon, a Finlay Calder hat-trick and a Innes Davidson effort sent Inverness into the semi-finals. Kingussie were too strong for Fort William, winning 13-0 at The Dell. Ally Douglas scored four times, a Ewan Baker hat-trick and doubles from Michael Slimon, Keppa Salazar-Roy and a Calum Douglas goal all counted for Kingussie who will play Inverness in the semis.
Marine Harvest U14 South League Bute edged out Dunoon 6-5 in a thrilling encounter at The Meadows. Steven Dunn and Marcus Planck both bagged Bute braces with Rory MacDonald and Leon MacMillan also scoring. Finan Kennedy, Neily MacNaughton, Murray McClymont, Marcus Keith and Innes Lambert were all scorers for Dunoon. Oban Camanachd defeated Oban Lorn 9-0. A Ross Campbell hat-trick, an Innes Jackson brace and goals from Murray McKay, Calum MacMillan, Adam Munro and Ewan Morgan all counted for Oban Camanachd. The match between Ballachulish and Kilmory was postponed.
National U14 Development Trophy League A Ardnamurchan hosted the League A fixtures and they lost 4-1 to Ballachulish. Freddie Paterson scored for Ard but a Lewis Moran double and goals from David Wilson and Leon Laurie gave Balla’ victory. Balla’ followed that up with a 3-1 win over Oban Lorn. Lewis Moran, Logan Thomson and Dan MacLean were on target with Kory Kirkhope countering for the Oban side. Oban Lorn beat Ardnamurchan 5-1 thanks to doubles from William McEwan and Coll MacKay and a Pearce MacBeth effort. Seamus Buchanan was the Ard scorer.
League B Strathspey were the League B hosts. A Finlay Fraser hat-trick gave Glengarry a 3-1 win over Strathglass with Sean Brown getting the Strath goal. Alexander Logan, a Jack Nelson brace and a Callum Stewart goal gave Strathspey a 4-0 win over Strathglass. The game between Strathspey and Glengarry finished goalless.
Tulloch Trophy: National Primary Schools Final Taynuilt Primaries 5 Kingussie Primary 0 Taynuilt Primaries lifted the Tulloch Cup with a 5-0 win over Kingussie Primary School In their noon throw up at The Eilan on Saturday 3 June 2017. Innes Jackson grabbed a hat-trick whilst Matthew Sloss scored twice. Ian Kennedy was the match referee. |
