Skye Camanachd Ladies Head Coach Sarah Corrigall was full of praise for the strides her team has taken over the last couple of years as they prepare for the Valerie Fraser Cup Final against Glasgow Mid Argyll Ladies at Strachurmore on Saturday 6 September 2014.
This is Corrigall’s second season in charge of the Islanders team and she is clearly proud of the progress that had been achieved in such a short time. “When I got involved a couple of years ago, I thought the team had great potential,” said Corrigall who has won every honour in the ladies game. “I thought it was a young squad who could go on to big things if they worked hard and stayed together. However I couldn’t have envisaged after just two seasons that the team would be in the Valerie Fraser Cup Final and competing well in a national league. I thought it would take longer to achieve this. It’s crazy but the players have worked so hard and they deserve it.”
