Willie Cowie Steps Down As Skye Boss | |
02 December 2017 Willie Cowie has stepped down as Skye Camanachd first team manager. Cowie spent 12 months in the role during a period which the club lifted the Marine harvest National Division title to make an immediate return to shinty’s top flight. The team also reached the Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup semi-finals where they lost out to eventual winners Newtonmore. Assistant manager Peter Gordon has intimated that he will stand down too. Skye Camanachd Chairman Douglas MacDougall said, “On behalf of the committee, I’d like to thank Willie for his involvement and success with the first team last season and for all the hard work that is involved with the competing demands of managing a senior team in modern day shinty. We’d also like to thank Peter for his efforts too.” The Skye Camanachd committee will now focus on identifying suitable replacements as a matter of priority. |
