Weather Hits Pre-season Friendly Matches - UPDATED! | |
19 February 2016 The wet weather has already started to hit the pre-season friendly matches scheduled on Saturday 20 February 2016. The match between Skye Camanachd and Beauly was originally scheduled for Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. However Skye’s pitch was deemed unplayable on Thursday afternoon and the game was switched to Braeview Park. Beauly’s pitch was only just playable on the Friday afternoon so, with a terrible weather forecast for the following day, it was thought that an early decision and a postponement was the best outcome. The encounter between Oban Celtic and Inveraray was postponed on Friday afternoon as Mossfield failed a pitch inspection. The second team match between Inverness and Kinlochshiel was a Saturday morning postponement. The meeting between the Inverness and Kinlochshiel first teams was initially given the green light but postponed later in the morning. A Saturday morning pitch inspection ruled the Eilan unplayable so the match between Newtonmore and Lochaber has been switched to Spean Bridge with a 1pm throw up. In a re-arranged match, Aberdour’s double-header against Bute has been postponed so Fort William will visit Silver Sands instead on Saturday 20 February 2016. Throw up is at 1pm. An overnight fall of snow put paid to Kingussie and Strathspey Camanachd’s attempts to play a 2pm throw up at the Dell.
