Tommy Wilson, Portree | |
31 August 2016 Everyone at Skye Camanachd was saddened to hear of the passing of Tommy Wilson, Portree earlier this week. Tommy Wilson had not kept the best of health in recent years and before he retired he was a bus driver based in Portree. This occupation would see him take Skye teams on away trips on occasion. His son Thomas Wilson is a current player with the Skye Camanachd second team whilst his other son, Alistair Wilson, was a youth player with the Islanders. Tommy Wilson’s widow Chirsty Mairi Wilson is a regular fund raiser for Skye Camanachd. Tommy Wilson’s funeral will take place at the Church of Scotland, Portree on Saturday 3 September 2016 and thereafter to Portree Cemetery for the internment. A number of Skye Camanachd players and officials will be in attendance. There will be soup and sandwiches in the Skye Camanachd Clubhouse afterwards. Both Skye Camanachd fixtures this weekend have been postponed as a mark of respect and everyone at the club sends their condolences to Chirsty Mairi, Thomas, Alistair and the extended family. |
