Skye Camanachd were given three home draws and a bye as the draws were made for the MacTavish Cup, the Balliemore Cup, the Aberdein Considine Cup and the Strathdearn Cup at the Camanachd Association Offices on Tuesday 28 January 2014.
The draws were made by two of the stars from BBC Alba’s SWAGs (Shinty Wives & Girlfriends) programme, Suzy Campbell from Newtonmore and Alice MacRae from Kinlochshiel, along with Inverness Provost, Alex Graham. BBC Alba aired the SWAGs programme over the festive period and it received rave reviews as it followed the fortunes of several of the games unsung heroines.
Skye Camanachd will be at home to Orion Group Premiership side Glenurquhart in the first round of the MacTavish Cup. The sides are due to meet in a pre-season friendly at Blairbeg on Saturday 15 February 2014 and they last met competitively in June 2012 when goals from Alan Palmer and Jordan Murchison gave Skye a 2-1 Scottish Hydro Camanachd Cup victory at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree. The tie will be played on Saturday 29 March 2014 and the winners will be at home to Lochcarron or Caberfeidh.
In the Balliemore Cup, Skye will host Strachur and these sides have not met in recent years. Strachur play Marine Harvest South Division 1. This tie will be played on Saturday 5 April 2014.
The Skye second team were given a bye in the first round of the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup which also takes place on Saturday 5 April 2014.
The Strathdearn pitted the Skye reserves against another side they have not played recently; Inverness. That tie will also take place at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree on Saturday 31 May 2014. The winners will travel to play Kilmallie or Beauly on Saturday 5 July 2014.
