Andrew Corrigan was working and so he missed out for the home side. Ben Delaney returned from a one game ban for Lochaber and he scored the opener after just 5 minutes. It took an injury time Ewan Brady goal to earn the Glen a 3-3 draw against Lochaber at Spean Bridge last weekend and it was Brady who found the back of the net again after 32 minutes to make it 1-1. Glenurquhart then took control of the tie and goals from Fraser Heath on 55 minutes and Euan Lloyd on 68 minutes gave them a deserved 3-1 victory.

An even first half ended goalless with both keepers rarely troubled, The home side made the better start to the second period but it was Lovat who took the lead on 55 minutes when Lorne MacKay collected the ball at the back post and rifled a shot past a helpless Scott Kennedy in the ‘Shiel goal. Kinlochshiel equalised on 61 minutes when referee Evan MacRae awarded them a penalty after Keith MacRae was hauled down as he burst through on goal. Kelly’s cross found fellow substitute Duncan Davidson in front of goal. Davidson seemed sure to score but ‘Shiel keeper Scott Kennedy made a great save on the goal line. However the ball spun into the air and Greg Matheson got to it first to shy the ball into the net to the delight of the Lovat support. ‘Shiel were disappointed to lose out and what will be of further concern to manager Johnston Gill was what looked like a knee injury to in-form forward Gordie MacDonald. Lovat will face either Newtonmore or Fort William in the North semi final of this national tournament.
